I didn't find this to be Pratchett's most clever book. Entertaining, but not overly compelling.
Terry Pratchett explores the importance of belief in the abstract and at times, ridiculous. Hogswatch is threatened by those who do not appreciate humankind, and the only chance of its survival is Death, a ragtag group of wizards, and a nanny. On the surface, Hogfather is a cute Christmas story, but if you're willing to look for it, you can find a deeper meaning. I definitely recommend it.
Death is definitely one of my favourite Disc World characters, and this novel is the perfect example of why. Hogfather showcases all of the quirks that makes Death a memorable and enjoyable character, from his naivete, literal-ness, and love for humans.

Not as enjoyable as I had hoped. Maybe if I'd read all the Discoworld novels I would have found it funnier and more clever. Maybe.

This is, by far, my favourite ever story to keep you company during Christmas - and it's a bloody good read during the rest of the year as well.
I also had the pleasure of listening to it as my first ever Audiobook experience, and Nigel Planer does a phenomenal job in bringing every character to life - although Death will always sound like Christopher Lee to me.
This has become one of my all time favourite Discworld books, full of laughs and poignant observations that will stay with you long after you've put the book down.

Terry Pratchett can stick the landing like no other, although this book has as many endings as RETURN OF THE KING.
But at one point one of the final scenes made me laugh out loud, literally LOL, and there was a tiny waver in it as if it was about to turn into a sob before solidifying.

Sorry, Brett! I really enjoyed Pratchett's Good Omens, but I don't think the Discworld is for me. A fun story, but I'll visit some of his other worlds.
