Eh it was okay. Kinda bizmare and the motives seemed a bit weak and convoluted but not the worst time I’ve had.

If you’re looking for something new and bursting full of that typical bully angst, you probably won’t find it here.

Somehow All the Little Lies simultaneously drags and manages to feel rushed. Story-wise it’s a fairly standard prep school bully romance that follows the same format as most others in the genre. It’s more of an enemies to friends to lovers, there isn’t a lot of bullying and the small amount there is ends fairly early in the book. The majority of the book felt quite dragged out, it became a bit of a chore to finish and I skimmed the last 30%.

The plot around Hayley’s background, what happened to her father and what happened to make Christian hate Hayley held a lot of promise but really didn’t deliver. The reveal around Hayley’s background story was rushed into the last 10% of the book and over before it could even be developed although a lot more could have been done with it.

I also didn’t really buy into the tension or romance between Hayley and Christian. I ended up not really caring about them as a couple. The book did a good job of setting up a connection between the two main characters from book 2 who I was definitely a lot more invested in, but maybe not quite invested enough to read it.

All in all not a bad read, just badly paced and didn’t quite match up to other similar books in the prep school bully genre.

Good plot. I sometimes felt that the main characters relationship was a little dry, however I loved the little snippets of the two supporting characters relationship.

Hayley was a very interesting character and her character development was definitely there but it somehow seemed like it wasn’t very grandmas throughout the book, rather just at random times. It would have been nice to see it be more constant. I liked reading her pov even if she was annoying at times.

Christian was another interesting main character. I would have liked to gotten to know him more in a way. At the end of the book we knew about his trauma and his relationship etc. But I didn’t really know much about his likes, dislikes..

Three stars are for the plot. The two stars taken away just for little bits I didn’t like but I really enjoyed the book.

Perfect Bully Romance

I am mad I took so long to read this. I usually am not a fan of bully romances but this one was the perfect balance of hard and soft. The dual POV really helped the story develop.
I loved the side characters too!

GOD I wish I hadn't seen this recommended on BookTok. It was awful.

Usually I enjoy this troupe of bad boy/nice girls but not when the writing is this bad. I feel like this must be an easy money-making book troupe. Most of these books follow the exact same storyline of fight/make up and rinse and repeat and usually I enjoy the trashy/cringey romance but I can't be bothered when the writing is this bad. It was honestly awful. It was like the author wrote some dialogue and then went back and added in some thoughts for the characters and then actions. I don't know how many times I read 'she let out a breath...she exhaled through her mouth....' The chapters change POV from the main girl and Christian and were told in the first person but there was no connection to any of the characters. ZERO
Also, none of the other characters existed in my eyes because they had no lives that didn't revolve around the main girl. I could go on and on about just have awful these types of books are. I like this troupe but I just can't with how bad some of these books are being written.
*Dialogue...Christian clenches his fists....Girl exhales through her mouth....argument.... makeup....rinse and repeat for the entire book *
Won't be so tempted to try another booktok recommendation for a while I think.

Our bodies fit together like that was how we were meant to be for life.

oh man am i a sucker for bully private school romances and this did NOT disappoint!! i absolutely ate this up. i loved hayley & christian’s chemistry. seeing her open herself up to christian & the idea of being helped and cared for by him (& ollie , piper , and eric) was so sweet. i loved the suspense this book had as well, it def kept me engaged and wanting more.

i am soo excited to continue on with piper and ollie’s book because i absolutely LOVED them in this book
