It was a great book. Not the best I've read, but a good one. I had little troubles to love the characters, but I did love the story. The past intertwined with the present... The character development was really present. Following Stevie throughout every step of an ED recovery AND grieving was really interesting. I liked it. During my reading, I could see the message that was transmitted by the characters, etc. It is okay to feel emotions, we just need to find balance.
We are all a little fucked up.

trigger warning 1 million - i knew this book would be triggering but wasn’t quite prepared for how intense it would be, DO NOT read this if you’re recovering or struggling

this is the most haunting, accurate and raw depiction of eating disorders i have ever read. the author really couldn’t have done this representation any better, this was far from the glamorisation we see on social media, this book showed the sad, horrible, heart-wrenching and frankly disgusting parts of this evil mental illness.  although it was a very heavy read, i think anyone who wants to understand eating disorders better would benefit from this

The main themes are represented so clearly yet emotionally. It is a very good read which really opens your eyes at the life the main character lives.

Paperweight talks about different eating disorders and suicide. Not long before going to a treatment center, Stevie's brother dies and she is planning to kill herself in order to be with him again. When she arrives at the center she doesn't admit that she is bulimic and sees herself as different from the rest, she doesn't think she should be there so she doesn't respond well to the treatment.
