Not really as enjoyable as the first novel as the gimmick is no longer interesting.

I know Kawaguchi tries to add layers by moving into the future or exploring Kazu’s story, but the writing is annoyingly repetitive to make it on par with the first. I also just don’t feel for the characters.

Nothing else to say other than it’s a good palette cleanser if you’ve read something more dense.
