A fun read that referenced the genre well (without being overly cool, wink wink about it as I find many that try to be meta to mystery genre). Really enjoyed the main characters, the setting and the pace.

A clever idea - three actresses associated with the female fictional detective Dahlia Lively engaged in some sleuthing - which is well executed. The narrative rests with each character in turn and the author does a good job of finding and sustaining each voice and without disrupting the flow of the novel. It did feel a long story in places - a little too much explanation of the plot - but that's only a minor quibble. An enjoyable read.
