Egotistical Jerk
A Hero Club Novel
By: A.K. MacBride, Hero Club
Narrated by: Gregory Salinas, Summer Roberts

AK MacBride is a new author to me and so glad I got to listen to this story of hers! Egotistical Jerk is exactly the right description of Dr Sebastian Ryker. One of the the top diagnostic doctors in the country, Mia picked this hospital to learn from him. But from the first day, he treats her different than all the other doctors, and on thing she knows is she isn't going to take it. From there we get the slow burn romance of these two. But we don't only get witty banter and a passion worth the wait. MacBride weaves in the realism of hospital life. Getting to know patients, and the emotional turmoil it can create is front and center, giving us all the feels. You can feel the ups when its a good day and the unbearable grief of the bad. I love her writing style and can't wait to see what else she has out in audio.

Narrated by Summer Roberts and Gregory Salinas, I knew I was in for a treat. Roberts is fantastic, always in tune with her characters and she portrays Mia exactly as I envision. Salinas masterfully becomes Sebastian, keeping the gruffness up all while having that slow burn beginning to flame. And he also has an amazing English accent for Sebastian's best friend! It's a great listen with an incredible team.

Yes, please Doctor!

I feel like it's probably a lot needy but this Doctor can give it all to me! All of it! Everything! Fine, I will try to put it in English.

Dr. Sebastian Ryker is hot. Super HOT. Magma at the Earth's core hot. He is also a bit...much. I volunteer as tribute to take it all. Seriously, just bump Merida (I mean the sweet likeable and utter doll known as Mia) and I will be sure to take the good Doctor off your hands. (Starts stomping and throwing hands up) FINE. She can have him. (Lots of disgruntled grunting)

Just know Sebastian, you are missing out on all MY awesomeness. (Rolls eyes savagely) You may think you love her but, I'm totally the better option. FYI.

LOL. I couldn’t even type that last line with a straight face.

Sebastian and Mia are probably able to make the skeptical anti-love peeps doubt themselves. I am prolove so I fell for them like a cheap house of cards. These doctors are going to manipulate your heartstrings like pros...(doctors...duh!)

Enjoy you quick and unstoppable descent into happiness and bliss. Just be careful it's over too quickly!

Egotistical Jerk by A.K. MacBride is part of the Cocky Hero Club world. Each story can be read as a stand-alone and read in any order.
I loved this story. It was fun to read, hard to put down and a great way to spend a Sunday.
The characters in this story were both excellent. Mia was everything I would expect in a "red head." She is fiery, fierce, believes in her own abilities and is not afraid to let you know it, experience it and love it. She did not allow anyone, including her idol dull her shine.
Sebastián is that Cocky, brooding, badboy we all love. He is a leading expert in his field and everyone knows it. His people skills are less than stellar, but the man knows his stuff. When newby Mia turns his life around, he doesn't know how to get a handle around it.
I loved this book. The banter between the characters was hilarious and she definitely kept Sebastián on his toes. I loved Mia's self assured nature and her propensity to love, no matter what.

Enjoy

Short and easy to read, Mia and Sebastian will leave you feeling warmhearted.
Their story was fiery, dramatic, playful, a little sad and also sweet.

This is the first book that I have read from this writer and it wont be the last. I absolutely loved the storyline and plot in this one. Mia has wanted to be a doctor. She wanted to go into medicine to help people. It means something special to her because of what happened to her father.
Her goal is to learn from Dr. Ryker. Learn everything that she can and succeed in the world of medicine just like he has. But once she finally meets him in person that isn't so easy. Dr. Ryker is one big jerk. From the moment Mia meets him he is yelling at her for the things that she has done. Even if it was saving a life. Dr. Ryker doesn't know is up from his down when it comes to being around Mia. There is something about her that is throwing him off. But will these two see past everything and be able to see that they have extremely great chemistry? Will they risk their career at the hospital to be together? Will Mia conquer her dreams and be the great doctor she has always wanted to be? I loved this page turning book. Mia and Dr. Ryker have amazing chemistry and it blows up the pages of this book. I absolutely love how Mia treats her patients and doesn't let what Dr. Ryker says or does at first get to her. This was a very well written storyline about two great characters. A great addition to the Cocky Hero Club series.

Cute.

This was a cute story. I liked the plot and the characters though didn’t find myself immersed in the book as much as I would have liked.

Doctor, Doctor.... what happens when two strong independent individuals start working together. Mia and Sebastian are both brilliant diagnostic surgeons with the goal of finding answers.

In this story the author A.K. MacBride does an excellent job by bringing vulnerability to the characters which makes them approachable and makes you want to be their friends.

I love when a story sucks you in, and this one did that!

This was a sweet but emotional story. I liked the plot and the characters, Sebastian and Mia, who is making him all out of sorts the moment she stepped into the hospital. They have great chemistry and they seemed natural and fit each other, even though their relationship kind of progressed a little fast.

It's my first read by the author and it’s well written. I highly recommend this story.
