This picked up right where the first book left off, and it was great! I thought the first book was intense, but this was way more intense! The questions I had about Ares’s past were answered, and I was a little shocked that HE didn’t even know. But, wow, these four (Ashley, Ares, Chad, and Jase) were really put through a LOT, especially Chad.

When they were all together, everything seemed like it was going to work out; their plans were falling into place. But were they really one step ahead? Well, there was a big reveal that was so messed up and shocking! Maybe it shouldn’t have been, but I truly did not see it coming.

I loved how Jase was so kind and loving, Chad was a little broken, but healed, and Ares slowly learned to share. They were all protective of Ashley, but she wasn’t weak and could take care of herself.

This was just a great ending to their story, though I do feel like the ending was a little bit rushed. I still enjoyed this and the narrators did an amazing job again! I didn’t always enjoy the female narrator’s voice, because sometimes the different characters she was narrating had an irritating tone. But other than that, they both did a great job bringing the characters to life.

This was so much worse than the first half of this duet. It was fairly boring and incredibly predictable-polar opposite of the first one. Pity it ended on such a bad note.

I really wanted to like this duo, but I couldn’t. I don’t know what secret sauce the author put in her other books I’ve enjoyed, but this was missing it big time. I only finished it because I needed closure on a few things, but it was really hard to connect with the characters the further i read, and it felt really one dimensional .

So there will be spoilers ahead, which may be helpful for those of you who like to know who the triggers involve and what types of things do/don’t happen in this book.

So first off is that the only MMC who does the tiniest bit of groveling for shitty behavior is Chad, which happened after they rescued him from being SA’d & tortured. So if you were looking to Ares for an apology for assaulting Ashley in the first book, you won’t get it; the closest you get is him stating he manipulated her and her letting him off the hook for a bigger apology. He basically turns into an Angel right after chad leaves her. But there is absolutely no groveling or apology; she just suddenly stops hating him. Jace kinda has an explanation/apology, and it’s whatever.

Ashley still thinks she was responsible for the assault Ares did at the end of book 1. Her inner monologue is still that she cheated on Chad?

Chad is SA’d in this book. There are some more graphic scenes for it.

Lots of twists & turns, which was probably the only semi enjoyable thing to read? It kept you guessing who was on what side up to the very end.

This series just wasn't for me and I should have stopped after the first book. The luminary stuff was just too out there for me, I feel bad rating it low but this book had so many eyeroll spots I can't give it a higher rating. It was too over the top, and yeah the sexy time was hot but I didn't even like any of her partners really. Be sure you like secret society type reads before you start this and read it with a fantasy genre in mind and not a mafia trope in mind, it is just too crazy to be anything but fantasy.

I’ll be honest: I expected so many things from the conclusion, but I didn’t really expect Ares to end up where he did. It didn’t seem possible, but it was a nice surprise. This duet reminded me of the Rydeville Elite series because of the crazy secret society stuff but it was so different, they’re really not comparable. This book is full of suspense and intrigue, so I spent most of it waiting for the next blow to fall but I loved every minute of it. I couldn’t put this book down because I totally HAD TO know what happened next and couldn’t wait.

Ash continued to prove her strength and show us her determination. She wanted her men, and nothing was going to stand between them. They had everything to lose here so it was the fight of their lives. It’s almost impossible to discuss this story without being a spoiler, so I’m struggling here but just know that this is a must-read and you will love every minute. Don’t miss the prequel!

This book was a great conclusion to part one, although I preferred the first book.

This book continues on directly from Dirty, Crazy, bad. Book one and we are thrown back into the world of the luminaries heirs.

There were some plot, twist that not even my brain could have tripped out, and honestly, it had me hooked throughout the entire series

Fantastic conclusion to the Dirty Crazy Bad duet, I love Ashely, Jase, Ares, and Chad, they are fantastic characters, the plot line had me hooked from the start and the way it all developed throughout the story was amazing. This secret society college dark romance with lots of steam is one you don't want to miss, a top read from this author for sure.

The Devil is in the Details

And boy are there lots of details and one hell of a devil!

Honestly there are so many characters in this book that I was getting confused as to where the story was going next.

Lots of betrayal, false friends, fake relationships etc. the back stabbing and twists throughout had me struggling to keep up.

Big surprise Rhett is the evil of all evils and we learn he has reach far and wide.

We do get our HEA, but it was a very dramatic ending, raising more questions than answers.
