This is for the duet, which is a solid mafia-style tale of an arranged marriage that ends up being so much more. After Alejandro gets his head out of his a$$ and realizes just how much he and Alana work well together. And then we definitely get an "I'll kill anyone that hurts you" vibe.

It's definitely spicier and darker than book 1, but I didn't really mind that. There were so many plot twists that it was hard to keep track of all the revelations.
As a general rule, Alejandro is desperately in love with Alana, and he just wants her to know that he loves her always, especially after their rough beginnings.
Lucia was surprise, but I came to enjoy her as a character and loved the backstop and development that she got.
The psychotic betrayal was one I could maybe have sensed but didn't really want to.
In this book, Alana holds her own against a creepy ex, and Alejandro reiterates her message because he's so besotted and possessive that he can't handle knowing she has a past.
I hated Alana's father and every nasty thing about him. He lied her whole life, saying he cared, but he really didn't, and her mum just agreed with her shitty husband because she has been trained into submission for him.
Overall, it was a good book and built upon the character development from Fierce King. 4

Alana and Alex grow closer as a danger to the family presents itself. Alex has to work quickly to discover the betrayer once Alana and Lucia are taken. This was such an epic sequel!
Moderate: Violence
This one was better in the plot department. I liked how it concluded
