This book is still One of my favorites books of all times. The pace, the characters and the relations that are developed...everything is just perfect. Victra , we LOVE you. And Sevro will always be the goblin that stole my heart

Very strong sequel to Red Rising. Golden Son focused more on war and strategy than the human elements and character development explored in the first book. I personally tend to favour the latter which is why I preferred Red Rising. There are some great plot twists and reveals. Fair warning you’ll want to already have the next book on hand before you get to the ending. Huge cliffhanger and I absolutely loved it.

As someone who struggles with action packed scenes, I began feeling like this book was far more boring than the first. What kept me going were the fascinating politics and strong character development. BUT! The last third of the book was incredible. The world building is so rich, the relationships are so complex. I’m RUNNING to the next book despite me starting the book feeling like I wasn’t going to finish it :)

I didn't think this series could get better, then it did! The world building and politics continue to amaze and frighten me. I would not want to live in Darrow's world, but I want to see how he survives this cut throat society. Just when i think he's made it to the top, something happens and the whole dynamic changes.

As soon as I finished this book, I started the next one!
