Quindi grazie, Dewey. Grazie. Ovunque tu sia."

2.5 stars, I think. It's hard to say. This book should be called "Me, My Life, My Town and The cat that touched all of that." Cause this book was very, very, me, me. This wasn't what I was expecting. It could've been much shorter and more focused on.... you know... Dewey. But this book was very much a book about Vicky and her town... and then Dewey.

Not sure what inspired me to read another animal book for my second read of the year, but this one is just as impactful, if not more, since this one is non-fiction and is a mix of a biography of a well loved cat but also a memoir of the dedicated librarian who cared for him over his nineteen years of life.

“People say what’s the big deal, he was just a cat. But that’s where they’re wrong. Dewey was so much more.” Dewey Readmore Books became the symbol of a proud Iowa farming community fighting the greatest crisis in its long history and was a source of inspiration for people all over the world. Dewey showed that good animals, like good people, make a difference.

i mean, of course i cried. there was no way i wasn't going to cry. but this woman is a nutcase.
