A poem about a man getting lost in the desert and being found by the city of silken tents. A short little poem

I think Gaiman is super talented but the random sex shit is nawt for me especially when it has the barest relation to the story

4 stars. This was freaking awesome and a lot darker than I was expecting. I really enjoy short story collections, even though I always want more from them which is why I can never give them a full 5 stars but this was really, really good. Not sure which one I prefer more of Gaiman’s short story collections that I’ve read so far, this one or Trigger Warning.
Anyways, this is a very solid collection and I thoroughly enjoyed it but my absolute favorites were:
-The Price
-Troll Bridge (even though I read this in his M is for Magic collection, it’s way too awesome not to mention again. Such a great story!)
-The Goldfish Pool and Other Stories (super weird but I love the Hollywood aspect to it)
-Changes (super trippy)
-Looking for the Girl
-Only the End of the World Again
-We Can Get Them for You Wholesale
-Foreign Parts (this one grossed me out so much but dammit was it good!)
-Snow, Glass, Apples (my favorite story! A really dark and twisted Snow White re-telling!)
This was a fun read and an awesome collection. Highly recommend.

I typically love Neil Gaiman, but this was just not my cup of tea. The number of stories that referenced sex and other things related to sex was a bit much for me. And it wasn't even spicy...it was just gratuitous. And I do enjoy spice if done well.
I ended up skipping a bunch of stories and honestly not absorbing others in the way I normally do.
There were a couple of good stories such as Troll Bridge and The Goldfish Pool, but I was a bit let down by the others.

So I initially picked this up because it was one of the few books on the first page of the graphic novels with 25,000 ratings. And I quickly discovered that this was a prose short story collection with no graphic novel pieces. So I removed the book from the list and started it anyway. And put it down. And picked it up. And put it down. And restarted it. I've been reading this slowly and for a long time.
Actually there are some really good stories in here. As well as a few that were nearly unreadable. And some that I just didn't appreciate. Basically a mixed bag. But worth reading. But nothing that I would desperately want to re-read. The Chthulhu stories were surprisingly good. The Angel story was also surprisingly good. Heck even the old Hollywood story was surprisingly good. Perhaps I just like being surprised.

Admittedly, some of these stories were duds, but many of them were great and made it worth the read.
Standouts:
"The Wedding Present"
"Chivalry"
"Shoggoth's Old Peculiar"
"Foreign Parts"
"When We Went to See the End of the World"
