Forget Me Not

All kids, whether young or old, should read this.

This is an example of how a book can touch you emotionally and teach you a lot in a few pages. It is my first time learning Tourette's syndrome. Its a sweet story of a girl Callie who has TS and her moving to a new place and trying to fit in and make friends. I read the author's note and this is own voices for TS. I also liked how she points out that Tourette's often accompany other conditions and manifests differently for different people.

I found it deeply moving, middle grade is a tough time for everyone and especially so for someone with TS which is deeply misunderstood syndrome. I teared up seeing Callie struggle and it was heartening to see her come into her own and finally accept herself. I liked seeing her budding friendship with JinSong. I liked his growth arc and also the growth arc of the supposed bully Beatriz.

I especially liked the message of feeling emboldened to share your uniqueness because all anyone wants is to feel understood. It is short but packs a punch and I am so glad I read this book.

Interesting book written from the prospective of Calliope June who has Tourette's syndrome. It was written in verse which I am not used to reading. Difficult to see the bullying, but it is accurately depicted for this age group.

It was a very quick read but it was beautiful in some ways. It was a bit weird because it was about year 7s but I still liked it

I can't imagine what it must have been like to grow up with Tourette's, not have a name for it or why you're so different, and then when it's finally diagnosed to be told not to tell anyone and to try and hide it. Thanks Ellie Terry for sharing a little bit of what it's like to have Tourette's Syndrome in this well written middle grade novel.

Most of the book is written in verse, so it makes for a very quick read. I liked the way the story flowed - it was a simple, but powerful. I really empathized with Callie and with Jinsong as well - I enjoyed watching them both grow and become more accepting of themselves.

This novel in verse was beautiful & moving & so much more. A glimpse into middle school life with Tourette Syndrome. Buy & share w Ss immediately!
