I slogged through this one. It wasn't very good but I just wanted to get to volume 3. If I had to do it over again I probably would have just skipped over it.

Don't let the start/end date fool you. I haven't actually being reading so slowly it took me 4 months. However, I didn't blaze through it either, and to be honest, the last 150 pages went fast primarily because I knew the book was almost finished....
That being said, there wasn't really anything BAD about it. I just didn't enjoy Jean-Paul as Batman after the first 200 pages of internal conflict, and then that's compounded by the fact that, being a 1990s storyline spanning different runs, different writers have different takes on him. On the plus side, if you are a fan of some of Batman's more obscure villains (boy, the 90s had a lot of those), then you should find this quite enjoyable!
Now, time to spend the next 4 months on Volume 3! At least these look really cool on my shelf......

I didn't enjoy this one much. One set of "villains" was really annoying and I couldn't stand
the replacement Batman.

Used to look forward to Azraels Batman but this was bad filled with lame ass villains I never heard of.

For a story that doesn't have Bruce Wayne, this is one of the most fascinating entries of the Dark Knight. This time we follow Azrael as he takes Batman's mantle. While I didn't love every single one of his stories, it was fascinating to see him move further and further into a dark path. Also, some of his run-ins with famous characters like the Joker and Catwoman offer some of the most entertaining stories (I loved them as much as some of Batman: The Animated Series' best episodes).

However, this was also a missed opportunity to develop Tim Drake's character further. Every time he appeared, I was hoping they would flesh him out more, but unfortunately this was a one-man show with Jean Paul Valley.
