Great quick sad book.
I loved the different POV of grief, which manifest different on everyone. The therapy scenes a++
Jessie is a dream. Only thing I wish we got more of was Leo’s backstory. I loved how it was wrapped up. It’s a quick emotional rollercoaster.
Love the Zara Jessie relationship.

🌶️🌶️ - medium spice, multiple explicit scenes
Thoughts:
- The narrators both did so well. Joe Arden and Teddy Hamilton had the right amount of gravity and emotion in their tone to tackle the heavy moments, while also portraying the characters’ early relationship in the flashbacks.
- I love that these characters overlap with the world from Without You again. Interconnected standalones are my favorite.
- From the first moment, this book broke my heart. The loss they suffered was unimaginable then seeing how happy they were in the flashbacks compared to their current misery was devastating 💔
- As fragile as Leo was, they all seemed to tiptoe around him for too long. Seeing someone spiral into believing the worst and push the most important people away is heart wrenching. When they finally started therapy and got out the hard truths, I couldn’t have cheered harder for their reconciliation.
- And oh my gosh, that baby’s bedroom 😭❤️🩹
What an incredibly sad, beautiful book. I loved it.

This was a beautiful story of heartbreak. The way this family clawed its way back from the edge of complete brokenness was so hearterenching. I cried so many times.

5 ⭐️ isn’t even remotely enough. This story is absolute perfection. I cried the entire book. Leo and Jesse’s love story is absolutely beautiful. Please do yourself a favor and read this book. I have yet to be disappointed by a Marley Valentine book, but this book…this book is beyond words
Consistently over and over again Marley Valentine delivers heart wrenching soul destroy love stories. And this one is no exception.
On the whole I’m not a fan of marriage in crisis trope, but I loved this book.
The pain Jesse, Leo, Zara and Raine goes through is truely gut wrenching. The way Leo separated himself from his family and internalised his grief is very sad and the way Jesse never gave up on their love was truely remarkable but it definitely took a toll on him.
The way Marley introduced Dr Rosa as an integral character is very important in making the story more realistic.
I did love even though they repaired their marriage they never said it was perfect or how it had been before Lola’s death.
This book may have pushed me into another book hangover.

Jesse and Leo go through a heartbreaking tragedy that takes a toll on their marriage. As they both struggle to cope with their trauma, their relationship starts to suffer.
Although I'm not usually a fan of stories that switch between past and present, this one was exceptionally well-executed. The characters' emotions felt real and raw, and I was fully invested in their journey. While there were moments when I found myself frustrated with both Jesse and Leo, I also empathized with them and understood their pain and insecurities.
The way the characters' relationships were developed was another highlight for me. I appreciate books that portray strong co-parenting dynamics, and this one did not disappoint.
