Don't you just hate it when you read a duology series and you love the first book but the second book is a disappointment? That's what happened here.

I liked the first one so much I had to read the second right away - it was a pretty light read, and perhaps not as compelling as the first one, it was still well-written. I didn't care for the epilogue, but I certainly do like the style, and the world the author has created.

More suspense than romance and an epilogue that ties up all the loose ends (including ones you may have forgotten about) in the best bow of a few sentences. BUT I still really enjoyed it, appreciated that he warmed her up & used lube for the anal scene, and cried happy tears at the end.

Whoops, I forgot to even mark this as reading. It was good. Picked up right where book one left off, and filled in some backstory for book 4 (which I somehow read first). The good thing is that book 4 could have east been a standalone, but this book had some spoilers because I had read the other first, oops. Either way, I'm glad I got to see the relationship of Annie and Dylan expand in this one.

This book is the second in the series and it really pulls you in and holds you fast until the very end. It is unrelenting and so, so good! 5 stars.

Enjoyed the first part of this book and loved revisiting the characters but I felt like the first book was more suspenseful , and this book was a little slow in the end. May have been better as 1 book. Still enjoyed reading I would recommend if you loved the first.

When a book ends on a stunning cliffhanger, the one thing you hope for is the next one doesn't beat around the bush in resolving the issue. No worries here because the story gets right into it!

The situation involving Annie's husband was riveting, frightening and tension riddled. The image she created of him didn't even come close to the reality. It was raw, emotional and dangerous.

I loved how Annie and Dylan further exposed themselves and their vulnerabilities to each other. Both had fascinating histories that defined them and together they struggled to reach some place where they could build something together. These are two of the most complex, intriguing and unpredictable characters I've encountered and they're expertly written.

Be prepared to ride the range of a myriad of emotions in this story. It's tough but sincere and incredibly authentic. The writing is superb and the secondary characters have already seduced me. There's no way that this is the end because there's much more to be told. Yes, we've gotten Dylan and Annie's truths and now I'm ready to explore those important in their world.

(I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review)
