My position is not that of the majority. I found this torturous. The characters were unlikeable. The story was unlikely. Not the swapped at birth part, that’s happened, but the rest. Who allows a 2-year old to behave this way? Who lets people you don’t really like gate-crash your dinner party when there’s no space?
I could go on but I’d really like to move on.

Read this book. The hype is real.
Oh my god where to begin? I read this book in one sitting because I was constantly on the edge of my seat. The author did a fantastic job telling this story through multiple perspectives and they crafted characters that I either loved or hated with a passion. The book was a slow burn, but I didn’t mind because the ending was beautifully played out that I really didn’t see each plot twist coming. Gosh - the reason why Theo was truly swapped at birth was so depressing and yet so obvious the entire time.
One of my favorite reads this far year, can’t wait to read more by this author!

Slower to start than most Delaney books, with fewer dramatic twists. Miles felt a little too extreme to be believable. Nevertheless absorbing and creepy.
Thank you to NetGalley for the free copy in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed the premise of Playing Nice despite how far-fetched it was (even think it worked in its favour!) at times. The characters are great - even the horrible ones - and as a reader I really felt for the moral entanglement everyone found themselves in. There were definitely times where I found myself hooked in and wondered how the story would proceed. My rating is only lower as I wasn’t consistently on the edge of my seat and thought there were narrative points that definitely could have been tightened up (or explored more!) but overall a fresh and thrilling read.
This was one of the better books of this type I've read in a while. One of those that you can relate to and I kept asking myself "what would I have done". Definitely kept my attention. I think the library actually recommended this book when I put one I wanted on my waitlist, I'm glad I grabbed it.

Wow! JP Delaney does it again! This was a fantastic book that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Love all the twists and turns in this book.
Two couples give birth to premature boys and a twist of fate intertwines their lives. Two years later they are informed that each couple has taken home the wrong child. The couple are open to try and work things out in the best interests of the boys but of course things never go as planned.
Lots of twists and the story made me frustrated because so many things seemed unfair. A good read.
