Little disappointing. Would have enjoyed a slower and better bulid-up. However, as in If I Stay, the love for music just confinced me! and I love the way Forman describes it!

I liked it better than the first. I'm very happy about the conclusion. Yey!
I don’t think this book was the best sequel. It was like so everything they went through and then this??
At least they stay together at the end.

This sequel was about on par with the first book. It was interesting to have the narrator become a different main character to get their perspective though. Cute sequel.
Told from Adam's POV, this story follows the events 3 years after Mia's accident and his personal struggle to find and define his place in the vast universe. Like Mia's dilemma in book 1 to stay and live vs "moving on," Adam struggles with connecting and "living" every day. Without Mia, he feels disconnected, alone, and hollow. His punk rock music both fills and creates the black void of his life.
What makes this book an intriguing and fun read is how the author portrays Adam's development and life through his song lyrics and introduction of other musical styles and tunes to reflect Adam's changes--from rage and sorrow to eventual understanding and healing.
Very enjoyable and easy read, and I highly recommend this YA book.

People told me that Where She Went was even better than If I Stay. I wasn't disappointed.
I did like the story of If I Stay better, but I LOVED the emotion in Where She Went. Everything Adam feels is just so raw and it's expressed so beautifully (my favorite expression of emotion being when he was on the bridge, saying "I can't do this anymore," absolutely STUNNING). I loved Mia's emotion as well, since she didn't really know how she felt, and that was also shown beautifully, and the emotion in this book is just so beautiful. Are there other books in this series?? I don't want this to be the end! I'd LOVE to see more of Mia and Adam and where they go! Especially since Gayle Forman writes so beautifully... I'll have to read her other books, too!

Since If I Stay didn't exactly end on a high note, I was reluctant to dive into this second book accounting the aftermath of such a sad tragedy. However, I didn't even know I needed this book until I started reading it. Better than If I Stay in my opinion. After the end of the first book, I wasn't sure how Mia was going to be able to cope with life and I wasn't sure if I wanted to go through that with her in the second book. But I didn't even think about Adam- I loved that it was his point of view. And because I understood Adam better, I loved their love story even more. Thank you for this book.
