Whoa now that's what reading a book should feel like. I enjoyed this and read it within 2 dys. I enjoyed the politics and the taste of a enemies to lovers romance.looking forward to the next book

I was so bored while also being curious as to where the story will go from here. Like, I would be sitting there trying to get through the pages, but then Jude became a spy and I would be like “Oh? So she’s gonna be killing people for this guy now?”. So it was little moments like that that would suddenly catch my interest but then the pages would go back to dragging on. Overall it felt like an introduction to the world of elfhame and so it was really slow.

The first half of the book was a lil hard to get through. I did not enjoy the really evident tones of slavery. And the tournament thing Jude participated in was so rushed and dry??? Barely any actual time was spent on it which sucks. I love fighting games in books.

The book picked up quite a bit in the second half and was much more interesting. Lots of emphasis on politics. I liked how it ended. And I can see the potential for the rest of the story.
