Pocos clásicos me han gustado como tal, este libro me ha dejado un tanto indiferente. Creo que no hay ningún personaje que me haya gustado. Es verdad que tienen sus momentos, es decir, hay escenas en las que me caen bien, pero luego sueltan alguna perla que hacen que el sentimiento se convierta en negativo. Por esto considero que son (todos) personajes muy duales que no sabes si son buenos o malos.
Además, hay como una cierta repetición en el patrón de comportamiento. Lo que hacen con los niños es lo que luego sigue pasando con la siguiente generación.
Otra cosa que no he llegado a entender el objetivo o la intención detrás es la narración. Está narrado desde el punto de vista de una de las sirvientas. Si me pongo en contexto del siglo XIX puedo entender que intención podría tener Emily Brontë, pero desde mi punto de vista no tiene mucho sentido.
Tiene escenas bonitas, o frases que han traspasado el libro. Es cierto que representa muy bien la época y lo que se esperaba tanto de hombres como de mujeres. Pero más allá de ser un libro tachado en mi lista de libros pendientes no me ha causado ninguna impresión más.
En cuanto a mi experiencia leyéndolo en inglés, no os lo recomiendo si no os gusta mucho leer en inglés. Como he dicho a mi me ha resultado tortuoso x2. Además, uno de los personajes habla con acento y está escrito tal cual en el libro lo que dificulta aún más la comprensión si no tenéis un nivel bastante alto de inglés.

Miserable man strives to make everyone around him miserable as well.
Even though there’s nothing positive plot or character-wise, I really enjoyed the prose (especially the insults). I went into the novel not knowing the plot and believed at every turn that, like other novels of its time, would have some romantic ending. But it didn’t and I don’t mind that.
