Irresistibly Risky is the fourth book in the Irresistibly Yours series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Asher Reyes and Wynter meet one night at a bar. He’s flying high after a Super Bowl win, and she’s drunk and just wants to hook up. Naturally, he obliges. But he’s having issues and does not make their hook up enjoyable for her.

When they meet again, he recognizes her instantly as the woman he never stopped thinking about. She, however, does not recognize him. She does have to spend time with him though, because she’s the new team doctor and her father, the coach, chose her specifically to work with his players. Also, Asher has an injury, which means they have to spend even more time together. So, Asher is determined to make up for his mess up from the night they met.

Wynter did not want to work with the team, especially because it was her father’s team. He was an a** during her childhood, and it messed with her head. To make things worse, once she figures out Asher is the guy from that night, she realizes she has to tell him about their son. I normally don’t care much for secret pregnancy, but it wasn’t really a secret. She just had no idea who the father was. And once she knew, she didn’t hold back the information. So, I thought she handled that well. She also had to deal with the issues her father gave not only her, but the players on his team as well (and that’s a whole other issue).

Asher was very sweet, caring, and swoony once he saw Wynter again. He really was determined to win her over after everything, and he brought the charm. What I didn’t like though was that he lived up to his playboy reputation. The thing I hate about second chance romance is when one MC “moves on” and sleeps around while the other remains celibate. He said that he never got her out of his head, yet he was going around sleeping with other women? Okay. And another thing, there was a part where he went on a date with someone else, which irritated me.

Regardless of that, he truly got to know Wynter, and he wanted to do anything he could to show her that he wasn’t that guy he was known to be. Yes, he had been a major playboy. Yes, he did have a reputation. But once she was back in his life, that was it for him. And he wanted to make sure she knew that. He went out of his way to dig up dirt on her father, because he saw that there was tension between them. And when something happened that could have led to a potential misunderstanding, he knew immediately that he had to talk to her because it truly wasn’t what it looked like. So, yeah. He truly did get to know and understand Wynter. But she wasn’t weak either. I mean, she was a single and successful mother, doing almost everything on her own. She didn’t judge Asher based on his past, despite her previous reservations because of her past, because he showed her that he was truly in love with her, leaving no room for doubt.

This was another great book by J. Saman. I cannot wait for the next book!
