(How can I wait until Provenance is published *AND* shipped to me?

It feels like forever.)

This was a beautifully written story with an amazingly crafted world and characters. I don't know why I'd kept it on my to-read list for three [!!!] years; what is wrong with me.

I like the twist ending, that the potential love interest is the antagonist. I liked the analogy of the poisoned arm and the shown character growth of “he didn’t act fast last time but did this time.” I often feel that I need to reread short stories to really get them, so might give this another go right before I read Ancillary Justice.

Too short for me to really get into the story or characters, but an interesting addition to Radch universe.

An excellent short, with a couple novel ideas.
