Nice short story from the Ancillaryverse. Not really big pieces of the novels' arcs revealed here, but a nice little bit from the world the author has built. You don't really need to read the other books to read this one. I found myself liking Kels very much.

If you're considering reading [b:Ancillary Justice|17333324|Ancillary Justice (Imperial Radch, #1)|Ann Leckie|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1397215917s/17333324.jpg|24064628] and want a taste of Leckie's writing- I don't think this story is a good place to start. It packs a punch, but definitely better read if you're already familiar with Radch universe.

A wonderful short story in the [b:Ancillary Justice|17333324|Ancillary Justice (Imperial Radch #1)|Ann Leckie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1397215917l/17333324._SY75_.jpg|24064628] universe. This story reminds me that I should read more of Leckie's work.

I like *Ann Leckie* a lot, but **Night's Slow Poison** didn't work for me – the story was either too short or too aimless for me to appreciate.

A nice little tale, precursor to the Imperial Radch series. Very light, but god characterisation and wordbuilding in so few pages.
