Urkomisch, spannend aber auch traurig - beim Lesen verflog die Zeit wie im Flug und es hätte auch gerne noch 300 Seiten so weitergehen können!

I was really surprised by how good this book is. The cover of the edition I have has half of a head with blond hair and sunglasses. Made me think it would be humorous and slight. I was so wrong. Fast paced action, suspense, danger, and truly likable characters. The adults are clueless as to what's really going on, and in their own ways stymie the children's attempts to help their friend. An unusual plot that has a very satisfying ending.

This book is really interesting and easy to read. Dont think of it as a historical novel but as the story of a thousand year old boy who is trying not to live eternally. Love how the author has both boys point of view.

There was just too much going on... it flipped back and forth from so many different places and times that I got confused- and also a little bit more historical accuracy might have been good.
