could it really be that I've never read and only know from the show? i suspect i just failed to record. in any case of course i loved and can't wait to read thru the whole series this summer!
So disappointed with how shallow and obvious all the cases were. Just didn't enjoy how piecemeal the book felt. I won't be continuing with this series. I do however love the detective Varg series.

This was a great book. Simply written but very beautiful.
I'm a bit late to this one. Can't *quite* see why it was so big - it's a great story, I like the characters and the setting is wonderfully done, but I'm not sure it's one I'd go back to or make a big fuss over - a pleasing enough read but not one that caught my interest particularly. I preferred The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives by Lola Shoneyin, if you're looking for something with an African atmosphere.
It is, however, lovely to read a book that shows Africa in such a wonderful, fond light and Botswana sounds like it's full of awesome. For that alone I might well look at others in the series.
