I really liked how this was written, although it’s kind of off putting for it to have been written by a white man. I liked the build up to the witch doctor story, but then it just very suddenly came to a close. Maybe it continues in the rest of the series, but I’m not sure I’ll read them.

A simple book but it conveys so much about Africa. Quick and easy to read.
A very pleasant read and pretty self contained even though I know this is a series.
Precious is a likable but rather generic main character but I hope she develops more as the series continues.

This book was sitting on my kindle for a number of years. I don't know why I never got around to reading it. It was an ok book - some of it predictable. Won't be continuing the series though (10 books!).
