Enjoyable, but not something I would read again.

I didn't like it enough to read the bajillion books that follow it, but it was interesting and different. Don't buy it -- borrow it from a friend or the library.

Read this to the girls and they complained a lot throughout but always got interested. At the very last line they were hooked. Now they are begging to read the next book.

Enjoyed the book hugely. Simple mysteries but h more importantly for new, it beautifully captures the simple, everyday life of Botswana. Almost all, if not all, the books I read are based in Europe or America. This was a refreshing change in location and the ambience was wonderful. I am booked to the series now!!

I was surprised that this book consisted of several small stories and not one big one. Once I got into the style of the book, I liked it. It was a heartwarming and enjoyable book that introduced me to a new country through cozy mysteries.

I think there are 25 books in the series. That's quite a lot, but at least I could read the next part at some point.

Not really my cuppa, but it's a cute and engaging book that flirts with telling the stories of black people in Botswana in the late twentieth century. It's a surface read, a beach book, a fun bit of fluff, but that's about it.

A cute story, giving glimpses into a culture with which I am very unfamiliar. (As far as I can tell, it seems respectful of that culture; however, I simply don't know enough to be able to say that with any surety.) It was, at times, overly cutesy; this was not exactly a deep story, nor does it have much in the way of an overarching plot.

Overall nice bit of fluff set in a locale unfamiliar to the average American reader, and therefore a nice read when you need some time to just chill with a bit of fiction.
