Diana Kingston’s father is dying of cancer & not expected to live for even a few days, she takes some time in the hospital chapel & meets a tall, dark gorgeous stranger who offers her a solution. Every Friday night for three months with the stranger in exchange for her father’s recovery. Then she wakes and her father is fully recovered and a mysterious letter arrives from the tall, dark, handsome Devil.
I’m not a lover of supernatural books but I do love a romance & this is a lovely romance. I was drawn in from the first page & gripped until the end. I laughed, I sighed & I cried. Pineapple, BBQs & shopping had me laughing, Lucien was so hot he had me sighing but I was in tears at the ending & the epilogue had the tears really flowing. This is a debut novel from the author, which ticked all the boxes, can't wait to read more.

DID NOT FINISH

I couldn’t finish this book… it felt like it was rotting my brain just a little.
I could explain further about how the characters were just slightly off or how the plot was predictable (a bit beauty and the beast-esque), but I really don’t want to spend any more time thinking about it.

2,5⭐ Доста неща куцаха, но не беше крайно дразнеща. От доста време не съм чела книга в трето лице и ми беше леко странно. Късичко четиво, което става за пълнеж.
dark emotional medium-paced

Supernatural references? Very fanfictiony
Idk how to feel….just okay. I started to like the relationship but too many parts were just eh. Spice felt very 50 shades too. Happy it was short

DID NOT FINISH: 30%

Didn’t care for o continue. Wasn’t invested in the characters
Or story.

I do not understand the rave reviews... This was pretty terrible.

D is pure, but desires evil things... Like doggy-style sex, apparently?

This felt like an attempt at proper Literary Fiction (lots of Milton), but the idea that the devil is corrupting the FMC by giving her really good sex (which apparently includes two minutes in a pool with zero orgasms or foreplay) is really outdated and frankly cringe-y.

The sex scenes were mechanical and short, and very very basic. I zoned out and missed some entirely, because the author described the chef's kitchen with more attention to detail. And despite being the "fucking king of hell," the devil is definitely only capable of basic entry-level BDSM.

There were also a lot of eye-roll moments. There is a literal confrontation between FMC's guardian angel and the devil, and this book felt like speed running every "innocent good girl dating the bad rich guy" trope.

Definitely not a fan.
