I know we are never to judge a book by its cover, but something about this one kind of grabbed me. Once I read the blurb, the storyline sounded really interesting. Well, it definitely was. Usually anti-heroes are a hit or miss for me, but I really liked Lucien in this one.
I loved both characters so much! Diana was all good, she was so kind and sweet. She basically gave up her soul to save her father. And then you have Lucien, who could be such a jerk (he is the Devil), but as he spends more time with Diana, things start to change for him.
I did not see this as too dark of a romance, which is actually nice sometimes. I think it is the banter between the two that I loved the most. When Lucien was the a$$, I just wanted to kick him where it hurts, then we have those hilarious moments like in the grocery store, where I was laughing out loud. But then you have those sweet moments when Lucien actually starts to feel that made my heart melt.
Overall, I thought this was a great debut novel. And the ending was just perfect.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the complimentary copy of Midnight with the Devil. All opinions are my own.

First read by this author and I think I'll continue with book two in the series. I would have liked a little more darkness that was promised initially and I'm usually not a fan of when a story is wrapped up in a nice neat bow. A like a bit of a mess and some loose ends. Here though, it worked. I even shed a tear or two.

Normally, I really enjoy books with similar themes, but this one? It felt way too close to the TV series Lucifer. Actually, scratch that—it’s not just “close,” it’s almost an exact copy.
I’m not sure if the author acknowledged being inspired by the show or if it’s just a coincidence, but for me, there was no “uniqueness” factor at all. The club setting, the characters, the whole “chosen one” vibe—it all felt like I was reading a spicier version of Lucifer.
It’s a DNF for me. I was hoping for something fresh, but instead, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I’d seen it all before.

The FMC is naive and incredibly unrelatable.
It's not a dark romance....
Loved this book, but I wouldn't call it a dark romance. The storyline had the potential to be dark romance, but not what I would consider as such.
The devil falling in love... perfect storyline with some sweet moments and spicy scene.

This has kind of been a "rainy day" book I've been hanging onto for a bit because A, Jeremy York narrates and, even though he and I started off on the worst of all the wrong feet with his terrible Australian accent in the even more terrible More Than This by Jay McLean back in January, I've discovered he's actually one of my favorite narrators now, and B, it's about the devil and demons and it's sexy. So, because Audible had a 50% off sale last week, I loaded up on a couple of those books I'd been saving for as an early Christmas gift for myself, this book included.
I didn't love this, but it was definitely fun. I enjoyed the dynamic between our two leads, the chemistry was real and it was sexy, even though a sex deal with the devil could have easily gotten really uncomfortable really quickly. But it kept things light, fun, and even kind of cute.
The ending definitely lost me and the two declaring their undying love for one another after a couple of midnight fuck sessions and some international travel really had me rolling my eyes, so that's where the book loses points for me.
Anyway, this was a fun, short time waster, but definitely not one I'll be recommending to anybody anytime soon.

Spoiler
I just thought the whole thing with the devil getting a second chance was so cheesy, especially with him and Diana losing their memories of the past month they've spent falling in love but still just ~knowing~ they're meant to be together at first sight. Barf.Anyway, this was a fun, short time waster, but definitely not one I'll be recommending to anybody anytime soon.
This book was a lot hotter than thought it would be. I want to read book 2.
This was surprisingly good. I haven’t read a lot of books like this and although I think some parts of it were odd or timed weird I enjoyed it overall. A very interesting take on a story very old.
