Highly enjoyable book. Didn't think that when you make a deal with the devil that it gets that steamy and entertaining. And that ending.....did not see it coming. Loved it but wish there was more books.

This was a fun, quick read, super sexy. I always love the bad boy, but the devil is even better. Loved it. Wouldn't mind making a deal to have sex with this devil.

This book was free on apple books, I really liked how the book ended.
Midnight with the Devil, by Emma Castle. Her writing is special and unique. I’m not usually the one to read fantasy/ paranormal books, but I must say that the plot and drama in this romance story swept me away. I always say, “if the writer chooses a good plot, throw in heart pounding drama, and some sinfully hot sexual scenes. Then that writer has the makings of a good book”. Emma, like most talented writers, brings ecstasy to the reader’s imagination in this romantic love story. Diving into Midnight with the Devil, the reader can easily visualize the story as their imagination transports them to Lucians and Diana’s romance story. I think its the words that Emma chooses for her story that helps make this book easy to read. Each night while reading Lucians and Diana’s love story, I found myself getting excited about cozying up to the book at night. Let’s briefly go over the story.
Diana, has found herself making a deal to save her father with someone whom she would never have imagined that would answer her request. Lucien Star, a.k.a Lucifer himself. Yes, you read that correctly. The dark angel cast from heaven. The evil of darkness himself.
Now, you might be asking, “how is it, Diana has called upon the one demon whom we all have come to know as the, “devil”, for a favor? SPOILER ALERT! The answer is, he found her. That’s the only spoiler that I will give you. Unfortunately for Diana, she has found herself at a tragic decision in her life.
To save the one person who means so much to her, she made a deal with Lucien. The deal is that she has to spend every Friday with Lucien for three months, to do with as he pleases. She must do all the request that he demands of her. Bondage. Check. Red neck tie.
Check. Exotic and romantic interludes in unimaginable places. Check. A man with a sinfully sexy God given body and a dangerous tongue that can make a woman faint. Check.
Check, and check! Not knowing what to expect, Diana shockingly gets caught up in the world of Lucien. She explores Lucien dark and steamy erotic passionate nights, that most women crave from a man. He shows her the illicit thoughts and fantasies that Diana only fantasied about in her dreams. Das war von der ersten Seite an ein 5 Sterne Buch für mich, bis ca.10 Minuten vorm Ende. Da hätte ich mein Handy gern an die Wand geworfen. Das ist absolut nicht mein Ende und man hätte es ganz einfach mit einer kleinen Änderung zu meinem Ende machen können. Ich versuche jetzt einfach krampfhaft mir mein Ende einzubilden.
Inhaltlich geht es hier um Diana, die am Anfang des Buches ihren im Sterben liegenden Vater im Krankenhaus besucht und dann Rückzug in der Kapelle des Krankenhaus sucht. Dort trifft sie auf Lucien Star, den Teufel persönlich, und geht einen Deal mit ihm ein, um ihren Vater zu retten. Sie muss ihm nicht nur ihre Seele versprechen, sondern auch 3 Monate jeden Freitag um Mitternacht für ihn zur Verfügung stehen und alles mit sich machen lassen was er will.
Sie ist keine Jungfrau, das ist dann doch hart für sie, aber für das Leben ihres Vaters tut sie alles. Sie ist einem von Anfang an sehr sympathisch und sie ist auch im Umgang mit Lucien nicht zu verängstigt. Das ganze Verhältnis zwischen ihnen gefiel mir sofort. Sie hatten eine tolle Chemie.
Lucien war nie zu arrogant oder aggressiv, aber war auch nicht zu weich. Es war einfach eine perfekte Mischung. Ein absoluter Traumcharakter.
Ich hatte mich eigentlich auf DarkRomance vorbereitet, aber das war es für mich nicht. Lucien war immer bemüht, dass es Diana gut ging und er ist ihr auch sehr schnell verfallen. Er war ehrlich gesagt richtig süß.
Die Nebencharaktere hatten zwar nur wenige Auftritte, waren aber interessant und ich hätte gern noch mehr von ihnen erfahren und erlebt. Auch das Setting an sich war klasse mit den gefallenen Engel, der Rivalität mit den nicht gefallenen Engeln und dem Schmerz den Lucien noch empfindet, dass er verstoßen wurde.
Alles war perfekt bis auf die letzten 10 Minuten. Leider hat mich das aber so geärgert und das Buch versaut, dass ich einfach meinem Herzen folge und einen ganzen Stern abziehe. Irgendwie tut mir das leid, weil es sonst einfach nur perfekt für mich war, aber das Ende hat mich einfach zu sehr zerstört, auch wenn es für viele andere sicher ein HEA ist.
Die Hörbuchfassung kann ich empfehlen. Jeremy York liest es sehr angenehm und deutlich. Ich hatte nie das Gefühl mit dem Englisch Probleme zu haben. Ich hätte am Ende nicht mal sagen können, ob ich ein englisches oder deutsches Hörbuch gehört habe.
