Sehr viel besser und ganz anders als erwartet! Glaube, eines der kreativsten Bücher, die ich seit langem gelesen habe, auch wenn es ihm sehr zu Gute kommt, keinen einzigen Aspekt wirklich oder nur pseudo zu erklären, sodass alles angerissen mysteriös bleibt, ohne dass der Autor wirklich Fakten liefern muss.
Wirklich gutes Erstlingswerk mit angenehmer Sprache, gutem Plotting und Tempo, eines der wenigen Bücher, das eher mehr Inhalt / Seiten vertragen hatte.
Fand es (bis auf das Ende) nicht sehr emotional, und auch wenn man die Charaktere mochte, hat der Schreibstil immer eine gewisse Distanz beibehalten.
Hätte gerne noch viel mehr über die anderen Kinder erfahren, und allgemein über die Welt / das Konzept, obwohl ich glaube, dass dieses Vage dem Buch gut getan hat.

This book had such great ideas and imagery, but I just had no idea what was going on. The plot was action packed but a bit hard to follow. The world being built was amazing, but I didn't get enough of a picture of it.

I am not sure what I expected of this book, but this was certainly not it. I went through phases of being so annoyed with the characters and then being very touched. This book is very long, and plays out in multiple acts. It’s hard to understand how it will ever end, but I think the ending was stronger than I expected. 4 stars seems like I would recommend this book to people, and while I think it was definitely worth my time, I have a hard time thinking of what readers I know in my life who would enjoy this book.

This was a pretty ambitious book in scope and it really is hard to pin down as far as genre. The reading experience was kind of like watching a movie because you really were just along for the ride. The story gets pretty cruel and gory in places, but it does end in a way that makes sense. The library of all knowledge plays a little fast and loose with the plot at times, where some fantastical things are known but some commonsensical things are not. I’m glad I read it, but it was unsettling.
