I thought this was gonna be a 5-star book for the first 200 pages but it slowed down a bunch towards the end. it’s also a little cornily written at times but it’s still so good. ted bundy was a loser who took advantage of women’s politeness was what i took away from this

3.5. I enjoyed how Knoll dispelled the many perpetrator-focused narratives and focused on the women and victims as heroines. I appreciated that the women were complex and had character flaws, including details like the nod to skin picking and trichotillomania.

I was distracted by what was fact and what was fiction in this "inspired by real events" story. I would have preferred fully one or the other. I thought Ruth's story dragged.
