Okay, dang, where do I even start with Six of Crows? I LOVE THIS BOOK WITH ALL MY HEART. I first read Six of Crows back in late 2017, and I just loved it from the beginning until the end. The plot, the characters, the world, and just the writing style? Loved it.
I’ve never so strongly loved and admired fictional characters than I have with Kaz Brekker, Inej Ghafa, Nina Zenik, Jesper Fahey, and Wylan Van Eck. (let’s forget about Matthias Helvar, shall we?) In each of them, I found parts of myself that I had often pushed away or dismissed about myself. These characters are by no means perfect, but that is why I love them. They’re all incredibly flawed.

we are given characters that we are meant to hate but instead we are drawn to them as we learn more about their backstory and trama, we understand them and relate to them.
i can’t even rank the crows they all hold specific parts in my heart but i heavily relate to wylan for a massive amount of reasons.

The characters are teenagers and are way too adult in some things but way too childish in other, so to me the characters aren't built in a way that makes sense.
The characters are diverse, but still they brush over slavery, forced prostitution and rape whereas they focus on the trauma of the main guy a lot more, and the 2 female characters are both in awe and take care of their male counterparts that treat them badly.
Then the story of Nina and Mathjias, he's basically a nazi soldier yet the book puts Nina's wrongdoings at the same level as his, when she's from a minority that's being prosecuted, enslaved and killed all over.
I won't be reading more of these books, very disappointing. I don't understand the hype except if it's from people that don't read much and this is one of the first fantasy books they read.
