Such a cute book with real life insight on what it’s like to live with mental illness. This book follows Dee, a young woman living with bipolar disorder who is about to attend the wedding of her two friends that she met in the psychiatric unit - one she happens to have feelings for. I found this book interesting, because she refers to her hospital stay at a Scarborough, Ontario hospital and reflects on the Canadian healthcare system. As a psychiatric nurse who works only 30min away from where she’s referring to, it’s interesting to read this story from the POV of a patient. Some parts made me laugh out loud, others made me cringe, but ultimately there’s a lot of truth into how she describes her illness and inpatient stay. Looking at the authors bio - it sounds like there might be scenarios that she herself experienced as an individual living with mental illness. Overall, this book is hilarious and heartwarming - definitely recommend.

I loved this one from the beginning. Her writing was one of my favorites, all her descriptions and how you could really visualize the story. She wrote about mental health in such a beautiful and raw way, as well as relationships— which can be messy and hard and amazing and wonderful all at once. I really loved this book. Definitely would recommend 🌝
