was excited for a lesbian vampire story but the writing wasn’t my favorite. still found this pretty fun though!

It was cute, and I liked the characters. That said, there were some inconsistencies in the story, Iike Alana talking about her ex-girlfriend at the first AA meeting Robin attends, but Robin is surprised when she finds out Alana is a lesbian, despite recalling that initial meeting in a conversation they have later on. And the story just kind of…ended, without much of a resolution.

Cute but the racism was a huge problem.
Honestly at this point I'd give my right arm and leg... in fact any number of limbs for well written lesbian romance with no racism, preferably written by a WoC.
Seriously it was only one incident of racism but it was introducing the only character of colour in the whole damn book who only appeared a tiny little moments including being mind controlled, I'll pass thanks.

This was a very enjoyably and fun reading. Got me spilling tea on my screen at least twice with so many the funny bits. Made my day.

Both MCs were great and loved the whole secrecy. The AA + vampire bit was just tooo much lol.

One thing I liked seeing, even if was a short conversation, was how a non believer would deal with some part of the AA steps related to God. I'm an atheist and wondered if there was secularist groups for this matter and how things work. I searched before, but it was many many years ago (over a decade tbh), so didn't find much (I'll try again now)

Finally, I was about to say that I wouldn't mind a follow up with these two, but just saw there is a short story, so you'll excuse me, I have some more reading to do.

A different take on a vampire story. An interesting read and hopefully we'll see more books for this series.

This was written well with compelling characters and a new spin on vampires (so hard to accomplish). I enjoyed it and finished in only a few sessions. I would definitely read more by this author team.
