-------------I'm angry. I'm wading in despair. I'm so many things at once, and all I want is to be at peace with them.
The first book, The Raging Ones, left our heroes: Court, Franny, and Mykal, on quite the cliffhanger. The book follows the trio as they continue to process all they've learned along with searching for answers for all they don't. Thrown into the unknown, they fight to each other safe.
This duology took a concept that I've always loved and took it to the next level. The idea of people being more connected than connected. Thrown together in a way you could never walk away from. The last book absolutely blew my mind, I loved the characters their dynamics and the fact that I never could quite predict what would happen next. Even within this book, I just went with the journey and had a great time.
This story is so fun, dramatic, dynamic, and somehow incredibly heartfelt all at once. Every turn of the plot is awesome, but every individual scene is equally as entertaining. The quality of this book really does blow me away especially considering that I'm not a huge sci-fi fan. This book is about people and love and finding peace, which is what I connect to.
And can I just empathizes, these authors KNOW how to write romance. Like, I have can never doubt that they bring their A-game to the romance table every time. Doing both hetero and homo relationships so well in a series that isn't even strictly a romance series? I'm beyond impressed.
The book is just written so well. I love the dialogue between all the characters who have such different relationships with each other. It made for such interesting dynamics that I could get invested in. You have three characters who can feel, taste, and smell everything the others felt, so you know characters have weird relationships. People are funny in a very laugh-out-loud way, yet hits you in a very emotional way.
TL;DR I love this book. I loved this series. This is an amazing sci-fi adventure with love and family at the very big heart of it all. Amazing character and dazzling plot will blow your mind. This duo has a special place in my heart listed under: inst-buy.
I don’t generally read sci-fi but this was a lot of fun! There was just the perfect amount of world building to keep it interesting, but I was never confused or overwhelmed with it. The characters were all well-developed, engaging, and likable (well most of them). The story was swiftly and perfectly paste, never a dull moment. The Romance was sweet and satisfying. This book was out of my comfort zone, out of this world, and showed me the stars. I’m really looking forward to what this writing duo has in store for us next.
*** thanks Wednesday Books/St Martin’s press for my copy of this book ***
I read this book in one sitting. I was so excited to pick back up with Mykal, Court and Franny. This book does pick up right where the other left off, and for the most part it was great. It wasn’t until the last 8 chapter. It was about then that things got kind of ridiculous. I don’t want to say anything spoilery but there were parts that were really far fetched and explanations that wrapped everything up but felt really rushed.
I liked Stork and was kinda bummed we didn’t get to see Franny find in Stork what Court and Mykal have...we’re told she does but it would’ve been better to see it.
Honestly, I think THIS is the book Krista & Becca should have made the poly relationship. The bond Court, Mykal and Franny have would’ve been perfect for that. Instead Franny feels more like a third wheel instead being an equal in their partnership. As much as I liked Stork, a poly relationship between Court, Mykal, and Franny would’ve been better. Definitely better than the Sully, Akra, Banks nonsense they’re pushing.......I digress......
Overall the book was interesting and entertaining. I loved Court, Mykal, and Franny. I wish we got more of the side characters like Kinden and Zimmer. I wish the end wasn’t so rushed but it was still a good read.
A nice compliment to the first, I was glad to see another duology rather than stretching a series into a trilogy and have a middle book suffer because of it. The Ritchie sisters have crafted a well-thought out story arc and installed a trio of main characters who are completely individual and also wonderfully connected to each other along with the greater story.
I received this book for free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This affected neither my opinion of the book, nor the content of my review.
So many amazing things. I loved guy=man-boy. I loved that they didn't know some "Earth words". I loved some very spoilerish things that I won't type. I hated all the hurt they had to endure. But WHOA what a story.

Listened to the audio version to finish off the series.
So so good.
I forgot many things and was crying while trying to put together a puzzle.
I want so much more.
My heart is still beating up a storm in my chest, and I can’t believe it’s time to say goodbye to these characters already. I had such a great time reading this??

When you’ve been on a hiatus, finally get around to checking your inboxes—and the publisher sent you an ARC of a sequel you never even requested, but really wanted to read. :’)

What an awesome closing to an awesome adventure. I really enjoyed following our three favorite bonded characters as they try and save earth. We ran through a plethora of emotions as our three characters developed into what seemed to be three separate entities by the end of the story. I loved how things progressed and the flow of the story was smooth. I wish there was another book in the series, but I will have to make do.
