This book was so dull. For some reason even when the stakes were high, it felt like the stakes were low. The entire love story with Oro felt fake because of all the memories with Grim. And HOW. MANY. MEMORIES. DID. SHE. NEED. It was so disruptive. And the way huge bits of info kept being held back just made it feel like Isla was an idiot.

And when big things happened it felt like it came out of nowhere, not in a "wow what a great twist" way but in a "wow this is poorly written" way.

Some books inspire you to pick up a pen and write a book. This one inspired me to not do that in case it's bad like this.

Part of me thinks I should read the next one because I'm a compeltionist. The other part of me thinks life is too short and there are too many good books in the world for that.

Arriba Oro, Grim sigue siendo un menso

3.5 ⭐️ Spoilers ahead !!!

I was way more interested in the « before » chapters than anything else and was frustrated every time we went back to the present time. The book was more boring without Grim really being there. Isla was so quick to hate him and make him her number one enemy without any further thought. Even when she started remembering him again she didn’t change her opinion about him when it was pretty clear he wasn’t that bad.

Since it was clear early on that they had history and that she loved him the love story with Oro felt very forced and it was painful to read about that. She spent the entire book convincing herself she loved him ugh
I could feel the chemistry between them in book 1 but in this one not at all…

« Everything that wasn’t him disappeared » plz there’s NO WAY she still loves Oro after getting her memories back. And she’s a WIFE ???

Anyways very excited for book 3 !! There’s no univers where she doesn’t end up with Grim

The second book was definitely easier to read than the first.
I don't know exactly why that was.
Maybe it was because I already knew the world?
I liked this book as much as the other one.
I liked that Isla could control her powers and the new twists.
I don't know who I like more, Grim or Oro.
Actually, I think it would be better if she became strong enough on her own and lived without them. I don't know, but I kind of wish that for her.
It sounds better than having to choose one person. But if so, Oro is definitely a better person than Grim.
The fact that he is willing to kill innocent peopel for her... I just don't like that...
