Stunning. The quirky woman who is socially awkward and clearly very lonely soon transforms into a lovely woman who I loved. Raymond is the perfect addition to the book and her life. And the celebration of healing warmed my heart. The audio narration is brilliant.

Both funny and dark, unexpected story of loneliness, kindness and growth.

I REALLY wanted to like this book. I have had it sitting on myshelf now since December 2017. I just didn't like Eleanor. I don't necessarily think a main character has to be likeable but they have to be likeable enough for me to root for them. She did remind me a bit of like a isolated female version of Sheldon Cooper. This book just wasn't for me and I know a lot of people love this book but I just don't.

I just couldn’t get invested in this one. By the time I got to the twist at the end, I couldn’t even bring myself to care that much.

It hits a bit too close to home ;; ;; albeit with a more hopeful ending (of course, as a good fiction should be, knowing the real life doesn't always go that way)

Even though it’s dark it maintains a silver lining. The character evolves throughout the story and you want it to keep coming.
