I can only say WHAT THE F*CK! The authors obviously likes to end things dramatically.

Series: The Royals Series #2 (must read in order)
:: 5 Pretty Little Stars ::
WOAH. This series has sucked me in all the way. Now I have to wait for Twisted Palace to see what happens? GAH. I can’t even wait. I am very anxiously (while biting my nails and bouncing my legs up and down) waiting for the final installment. I don’t really want it to end, but I cannot wait to see what happens! A series of books has not gotten me THIS excited in a long time…
Erin Watt (the two genius authors behind this amazing series) have come up with a great story in these books. The characters as completely badass- seriously, each and every one of them are- but damaged in some way. This to me, make them all the more real and relatable. With that being said, this is the series to read THIS YEAR. Everything about it is clever and wickedly devious. I know author J. Armentrout describes this series as “this generations cruel intentions” and she honestly hits the nail on the head with this description. If you haven’t had a chance to read this series GET ON IT. It is easily a favorite of the year and I cannot say enough good things about it.
If you read book 1: PAPER PRINCESS, you will know that it ends in a dreaded cliffhanger… If you haven’t it doesn’t matter because book 2 is out (this one) and honestly, the series is so good that the cliffhanger doesn’t even matter. Anyway. At the end of Paper Princess Ella runs away because of all the devious and unfathomable things that have been going on in the Royal household. But if you know these characters, then you know how determined they are to get back what is theirs… Now there are some moments where readers will question loyalties and if Ella will ever forgive the heinous things that have been happenings but you won’t regret a single minute of your reading!
Told mostly in Reed’s POV, readers will be captivated by this story. You will fall in love, feel a ton of hate, but most of all become completely enamored. Once again, this is one of the best series that has been released this year and I strongly suggest fellow readers to pick it up! I am simply OBSESSED. Highly recommended!

Yep. This 42 year old is rating this 90210esque book 5 mother trucking stars. Don't come at me. An addicting read doesn't have to be literary fiction. Loved it. Holy plot twist and cliffhanger at the end!
SECOND EDIT
✎ Actual rating: 3.5 stars.

Alright, I have no idea how Erin managed to put it out actually bearable. Really, it may be the only thing that makes me go throughout this ridiculous drama filled works. They turn out to be insanely addictive.
So, everyone's still a bitch. Brooke, Dinah, Val's cousin whose name does not concern me, Daniel, Ella, Reed.... feels good to know nothing changed. Although, I must admite that 'Broken Prince' surpassed my expectations.
Don't get all worked up for this. I still hate Ella. She ain't changed a bit. Yes, I do acknowledge she is a good-hearted woman but that doesn't make her any less irritable. I appreciated her for like, 25% of the book. Specially when she was still trying to 'resist' Reed. 'Resisting' because, honestly, the only thing that pretty young horny boy has of irresistible is his looks and his wallet.
My reactions to some (with some I meant pretty much all) of Reeds POV's:

I've learned to ignore the whole 'We are helplessly in love' plot between Ella and Reed. I'm just not accepting this one. They fell way too hard, way too soon. Love needs time to develop, not a couple of shared glances and steamy hookups with one or two pleasant conversations.
Erin Watt took the Soap Opera drama to a... lower level on this one. I know, it sounds bullocks but, I have to admit, I enjoyed this one far more than 'Paper Princess'. There was way less smut, which I appreciated. More drama, of course,
Rest in peace, Brooke. You will not be missed.
But, IS SHE REALLY DEAD?
After that cliffhanger and twist, I trust no one. I have, however, some predictions/wishes: Val and Easton get together ALREADY, Dinah dies, Callum and Steve marry, the Twins fuck off, Gideon gets a single novel and runs back to his girlfriend (Samantha, I think) and Reed fucks Ella already.
Because, honestly? It's about damn time.

but what can you do? It's the Royals.

She’s mine and always has been. From before we even met, she was mine and I was hers. I fought it too long, but I’m giving in now. I’m all in now.

and a surprising death and resuscitation. Can I just say: I found it really interesting how Watt solved the small enigmas so quickly and so cleverly. Take the whole 'Callum's not the father' scheme.Rest in peace, Brooke. You will not be missed.

The first book started out alright- sure the kids were nasty sometimes, but I never felt that it crossed a line. This book, however, includes every indicator of domestic violence and controlling tendencies between the two protagonists. This is a really unhealthy relationship and it SHOULD NOT be romanticized like it is in this novel. It is not ok to trap a woman and kiss her if she says no. It is not ok to stalk her and push away all of her other friends. This book made me sick, and the thought that young impressionable people might be out there reading it and thinking that it's romantic is terrifying!
