This book made me ponder the hardships blind people endure.
And not just the limitations on themselves, but the way people around them treat them differently.
(Just because a person is blind doesn't mean they're any less human, or worse, to be treated like helpless children people!)
The MC's character's POV was very frank, very annoyed and VERY sarcastic at times. It was great!
Helen was a character I enjoyed reading. I enjoyed hearing about her story and seeing her difficulties living in isolation from other people.
What happened to her in the beginning of the book was a slap in the face, I can't describe it any other way. What that guy did to her is unforgivable, and I hope Helen will eventually get over it (the two doctors seem to help, love those two goofs).
I really hope she ends up with her doc, cause their bantering is the cutest thing :D
Of course the one guy she never wants to see again (AKA the guy from the beginning) ends up being the one her sister is going to marry... Deep sigh...
From the moment I saw the groom-to-be's name, I suspected that he'd be trouble.
I just hope Helen gets to confront him, and won't shrink away from social contact again. Because it would be a damn shame...
I really want to know what happens next because the... urgh.... cliffhanger (I want more dammit!) really left me hanging.
So off to hunt down the second book!
Over and out!

Spoiler free.
This is a great concept for a story. Jury's still out on if it's believable or not, but it was really rushed. It felt like the charecter(s) just pulled decisions out of thin air all for the sake of making the book as short as possible. The ending seemed like it should have been the climax of the story, so I'm very disappointed in that, and I hope if I do choose to read the sequels they will be just a little bit longer and more plot packed.

DNF @ 10%
I've never DNF'd anything this quickly before, but good grief, this book is terrible. The writing is so bad.
and seriously... GTFO of here with that prologue.

Really enjoyed it, well written and good plot...but book ends right at climax and you have to buy the next one to continue. Frustrating. Probably would have bought the whole thing if I'd have known. Now I won't.
Graphic: Violence, Rape, Sexual violence, and Sexual assault

“I smile and proceed to torture them with my words. If my words are the only power I have, I intend to use them well.”
Maybe just not for me.I didn't find the MC believable at all. She is traumatized and decides to move far away to hide and then...after the fist visitors, she just merrily...leaves. Two new people drive her across multiple states for hours and one guy....talks about Pornos the whole time? Their plots no less? I just....this was not my kind of story.

Wow
I quite enjoyed this story. To overcome what Helen has just to be thrust back into that world.
But the cliffhanger! Ugh

This book was really just very unextraordinary. I think I may have had the wrong mindset going into this book. I was expecting a new adult book and this definitely falls into adult, which isn't really my thing.
I thought the characters were overall pretty bland. There were some funny moments, especially with Owen, but Helen really bored me.
The plot was, while like nothing I've read before, wasn't something I'd ever really want to revisit. It just wasn't really something I'm super interested in.
The writing was decent, but it didn't suck you in.
I don't have a whole lot to say about this book. It wasn't awful, but I certainly wouldn't say that it is very good, and I would only recommend this to someone who feels like they would really like this book.
