This book had the magic, and the prophecies, but not in the way that you would expect.
A fast-paced, well executed book of contemporary fantasy set in the wake of war, Burn is a novel you'd need to set an afternoon reading—else your mind would be elsewhere doing anything else.
⚠ Heavy warning for Racism, Homophobia, War, and Death

I loved it.
I wish there were books like this. I love books that you can't easily classify. There is history. (Okay, alternative history, but it's founded on history.) There is fantasy. There is science fiction. There are relevant social issues. There is A LOT. All in a neat, little bundle with an interesting cast of characters that I rather enjoyed. Seriously. Give me more like this. Now.
Moderate: Racism, Homophobia, Violence, Death, and Racial slurs
Minor: Sexual assault
