Elsie Silver

4 stars! Wow, I loved so much of Skylar and West's story. I found both of them to be such well-rounded and mature characters and I did like the overall concept/plot of the book, too. But it's definitely not the most memorable read from Elsie Silver for me personally.

I honestly struggled a little with the smut in this one - I feel like Elsie either hits or misses in that area. It felt a bit much for me, personally. I also really found the song lyrics to be so, so cringe. I usually don't struggle with that in books becaue I'm a big music gal but the lyrics were so corny and bad.

Also this a VERY specific to me critique but I fucking HATE birds so I couldn't stand the stupid parrot lol. Anyway it was fine but I feel the same way about this one that I feel about Flawless. It's fine but didn't blow me away.

here we go again…save a horse ride a cowboy

Lovely easy read, not quite Rosie and Ford, but a lovely read nonetheless.

I cried

3 ⭐️ (📚)

I’m not to sure how to feel about this one… there was a couple of things that just didn’t feel like it usually does in an elsie silver book - I actually found myself a little bored, and also a little disturbed at the spice scenes.

there was nothing inherently bad but I really feel as though they added nothing at all to the plot and were there for shits n gigs

there was some good disability rep with wests son ollie having selective mutism but obviously he spoke to our fmc immediately because plot armour 🙄

the nicknames were quite hard to get through as well “fancy face” and “thick thighs”?! I felt myself die a little bit inside each time.

single dad thing was cute n all but there are just bits here and there that I felt like ruined it (like the 8 year old child wearing an apron with a wildly inappropriate saying 😳) - also any book that includes any type of song, EVEN if they are a “famous popstar” just gives me the ick so fast

high key think three stars is generous
