There was no attachment to characters for the opening chapters to go the way it did. It was like they had the “plot” thought out and then wrote first few pages. I wish I could say I even wanted to know how the story ended but I didn’t.

I struggled to get through this. Zero was ok but his leading lady Rayne was completely forgettable, it was strange how she didn't feel like the main character in HER OWN STORY, Zero's sister Prinie took over and I was more intrigued by what was going on with her. The actual plot isn't great either, I think there was potential for something decent as I was interested to see how a woman with so much trauma in her past would deal with the MC lifestyle but in reality it barely was a consideration, she was just ok with everything, and ultimately nothing really happens until the last 10%.
First of all, you can always bank on K.E. Osborn to deliver a high powered, ultra sexy, keep you wanting more MC drama...and Explosive was no exception to her rule! Zero is president of Houston Defiance MC and Rayne is the damsel in distress who quickly finds her place in her new Defiance family. There's action through this entire book, and lots of areas where the author leaves just enough suspense that you have no idea what's coming. The main characters are both still healing from being hurt in the past, so the push-and-pull between Zero and Rayne makes for a fantastic love story. Meanwhile, we're also getting to know all the other brothers in the Houston chapter, whose personalities the author is able to develop so thoroughly in just a short amount of time. There was alot of well-deserved hype behind this book, especially with that hot cover and amazing teasers, and I'm so anxious to see where the author is going to take the series. If you're a fan of Chicago Defiance, you NEED this book. If you're not a fan of Chicago Defiance, read this book anyway! You will not put it down!
Explosive is a dark MC romance which is packed with action, tension and emotion. This book hits you with tragedy from the start when the Houston Defiance MC gets attached by a rival MC and from there on it is as explosive as the title as they deal with the fall out.
Zero is promoted to prez of the Houston Defiance MC after his parents are brutally murdered in front of the whole club during a rival club raid but unfortunately this leads to his younger sister and brother running away to Chicago to escape MC life. He gives them a year to grieve before following them, finding them at the Chicago Chapter of the Defiance. What he doesn’t expect to find is his sister’s new best friend Rayne who stirs his emotions with crazy chemistry. The feeling is mutual however Rayne is married, though the relationship is toxic and her husband a cop is physically abusive. Zero’s sister Prinie wont leave Rayne behind and so Zero ends up helping Rayne escape her husband and brings her back to the Houston Defiance MC with him. The plot accelerates from here with both Zero and Rayne wanting to act on their insane attraction but held back by their baggage. Add in some amazing characters, gritty plot and brilliant twists and you have an explosive MC romance that fans of this genre will enjoy.
Explosive is dark MC romance with intense drama and action that engages from beginning to end. I would recommend this to readers who enjoy contemporary romance, MC, violence & crime, action, heat and undeniable chemistry between two soulmates.
*Trigger Warning – there is domestic violence and abuse contained in this book.
