I laughed, I cried. I almost threw up while eating some poorly timed spaghetti. Easily the best book I’ve read this year.

I really enjoy this novel. The first of Grady but I cannot give it a 5 star rating. I would give it a 8 out of 10.
So what's this about? Basically this Exorcism for YA. The first hundred pages you start to understand the friendship of Abby and Gretchen. One is from poorer familes, while other from rich. It's very interesting coming of age story. The second part of the novel is the changes on of the girl and the other investigating on reason behind the changes. The third part is the conclusion with the exorcism and everything else...
You all know that growing up is hard and at times as you read the novel you come to feel that maybe this kind of changes are not exorcism related but just the normal growing up of a girl... until the last 100 pages I didn't knew how the exorcism stuff was going to happen. And it was like 12 Am and I was reading the last 100 pages in one go.
This novel is set in the 80's and it's very imporant. For people who grew up on that time, as me, you know that D&D was satanic stuff, Iron maidn cd's were getting stickers for parental advisory (or the equivalent) and other stuff - after all the satanists were taking over the world.
What I didn't enjoy or less was the third part of the story. Too rushed and confusing...
Is this horror? I don't think so. It's not kid horror stuff by R L Stine but it's pure horror. Overall I enjoy it and I wil read more of his works. Well I have more 3 of his works.
