4/5 ⭐️I enjoyed this book so much! A story of friendship and horror. The characters were great, the plot was great, the 80’s pop culture references were great! I could see each chapter taking place so clearly in my mind. Not scary at all, but a lot of fun.

Wow wow wow. Hendrix is a master at weaving a traditional style horror story but then injecting a tad cheese with oodles of authenticity. This isn't your overblown stereotypical depiction of the 80s and this isn't the Exorcist.
The ending in particular blew me away. When Hendrix puts all the pieces together and the actual story he's telling is revealed, I teared up.
Only not a solid 5 stars because there were some chunks in the middle that felt rushed for the sake of moving the book along that I wish were slowed down for the sake of the possession plot. But really, if you're reading Hendrix just for the horror, you're missing the point.
