i started this literally years ago and finally read the second half and i’m so glad i picked it back up. i didn’t stop because i didn’t like it but the second half of the book just really captured me. there’s a few questionable things in this book that i think are supposed to highlight that it was a different time but really they were just unnecessary. but the horror elements were great and the relationship between the two main characters was real and beautiful, the last few chapters had me sobbing for some reason

Quería dejar reposar este libro unas semanillas antes de hacer mi reseña, porque casi de forma simultánea leí "Cómo vender una casa encantada" del mismo autor, y odié ese libro. Sin embargo este, para mi sorpresa, me ha encantado.
Es la primera vez que me sucede algo así y aun estoy confusa. Los personajes de este libro han sido geniales, he empatizado con las protagonistas desde el principio, al punto de sentirlas como antiguas amigas. El ritmo ha sido muy bueno, quizás el final ha sido un poquito más largo de lo que me hubiera gustado, pero las últimas páginas me han emocionado muchísimo.
La forma en la que se trata la amistad, los conceptos del bien y el mal, la diferencia de clases sociales... Es que me ha encantado todo.
