really compelling premise, but this murder mystery could have been told in 100 pages or less. there were a lot of inconsistencies in grammar and punctuation, and the writing's voice felt like it changed from paragraph to paragraph. a lot of the language is outdated cringe, or sounds like it was written by a really lame guy. and, well, if you know, you know.

This book is so hard for me to rate. I got this book as an ARC after seeing that it was a book of the month pick. I was so excited and intrigued that it was a murder mystery that delt with a swinger society. But then one of my friends told me that there are no quotation marks in the book. I started to read the first few pages, and I couldn't do the format of this book. Therefore, if I was reading this book, it would've been a 1 star because I would've DNF'ed this one.

But I was given the idea to audio it and found that I could pick it as a listen now on NetGalley. Which I got super excited for and dove right into it. The narrator did a good job changing her voice to emphasize the different people talking. This is the only reason why my rating changed to a 2 star because had I tried to read this book- that wouldn't have happened. I would've just taken the loss of percentage on NetGalley and DNF'ed this book.

Should I have DNF'ed this book or not have even picked it up- absolutely I was given the ick when a male part was called a yogurt cannon. Like EWWWWWWW. I really hate to give bad reviews, but this was not it at all.
A. There were no quotation Marks- my bad for not seeing that or know that was part of the format.
B. The murder mystery didn't happen until 70% into the book.
C. Yogurt cannon.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC and ALC in Exchange for my honest review.

Messy Reality tv show with rich ass people living in white ass suburban area. There’s violence, drugs, tons of sex, and apparently usage of AI to write this book. It’s ok. The writing is alright? The characters shallow, and the plot shallower.

It’s a fun turn off your brain and read kind of a book.

The writing style in this is so different (very “informal” if that makes sense) and it’s just my cup of tea. It reads like it’s very bland though the story premise itself is very interesting. You spend 100 pages meeting all of the characters sort of abruptly and yet they all seem to lack depth. Again… it just wasn’t my cup of tea but I’m sure there are plenty of folks out there that can appreciate the writing style and enjoy it much more.
