I was given an ARC for an honest review.
I was pleasantly surprised how much I ended up loving and being sucked into this book. The beginning was a little rough for me, but once things got going, I didn’t want to stop! From Blood and Ash is my favorite series, and this book gave me some of those vibes ☺️
I enjoyed watching little sheltered, prepped to be the silent heir princess discover the world around her while being held “captive” and coming into her own person. She’s being held by three brothers (which if she would just have a why choose with all of them, there would be no complaints here! They’re all swoony) and a girl she thought was her lady’s maid.
I’m excited to see where this series goes! Thank you for sharing your writing with me, Morgan!

This book is a great YA read. There is so much going on it kept me intrigued from beginning to end.
The characters in this book are so strong and distinct. I liked each of them on their own but as a collective they were a formidable force. I didn’t like Shaye to begin with but over the book I grew to love her.
There is still so much mystery in this book and so many things still to find out - this is a great set up to the rest of the series and I feel like I need to keep reading to find out the truth. And that ending has just added to this feeling - it’s both brilliant and so mean. I’m desperate to know what happens next.
The romance in this book is real slow burn. Lots of chemistry but no smut so perfect for a YA audience.
This has all my favourite tropes - enemies to loves, captor/captive and slow burn.
A fantastic read and I will definitely be picking up the rest of the series

ARC Review:
O.M.G. I am living for this book, I’m hooked, line and sinker. With found family notes, morally grey brothers, powerful fmc, and more!
We start out with Ilaria Shaye living her best life in Midori, about to get married to her childhood best friend Sebastian. When she slips out of her rooms in the middle of the night can catches assassins in the hallway back to her rooms. The four assailants decide to kidnap Shaye because she saw what they looked like. Aborting their mission they take Shaye back to their country Tronovia. But to get back home Shaye sinks their ship and forces herself and her four kidnappers to trek back home instead of boating.
The trek back to Tronovia was a serious blast, from
gorgeous dresses, to heartfelt bonding moments and of course the problems on the way!
Vesper and the Soul Eaters were such a fun enemy! And of course the Harland brothers, serious Bat Boys vibes with those three! Also Eris being the sweetest the entire time, helping Shaye with everything even after Shaye being suspicious.
Absolute five star deserving.

First of all, Morgan did us the best surprise by sending us the eArc early.
Second of all, I knew that I was going to enjoy this but I loved it.
Third, I NEED MORE.
This book is everything Morgan said it was. It has magic, creatures, adventures, sassy and fierce characters, banter, three hot looking and powerful brothers (I mean I can't choose), and so much more.
In this book we dived a bit in the world but you can see that so much more is planned and I'm very excited to learn and discover more about this world, it's complexities and it's history.
This book was addictive, the brothers have such a good dynamic. And Shaye actually stay true to herself throughout the book, you can see that she is conflicted. On one hand she has her home, her fiance and an oppressing world. But on the other she has people that challenged her, that talk, help and answer her so you can really the strugle she goes trough.
Suffice to say that I love this book. And Morgan's writing but that's really no surprise.

Secrets and lies. Lies and secrets. After being kidnapped by Eris and the Harland brothers, Shaye discovers more about herself than she ever imagined she’d learn. When she realizes her enemy kidnappers are more truthful to her than anyone she’s ever known, the inner turmoil she fights leads her to new revelations about life, love, and who she is.
As part of Morgan’s street team, I was delighted to be given the chance to receive the ARC for this book as it has been one of my most anticipated 2023 reads since I first saw her Instagram post on it. This review is 100% honest and my thoughts on this INCREDIBLE book.
1.) The writing was amazing and her ability to capture her character’s personalities was phenomenal. Each character had distinct personalities that flowed so well together. Nobody was just bland and boring.
2.) The witty banter was topnotch to me. Especially with Nyx, who ended up being my FAVE character overall, despite me thoroughly rooting for the morally grey, swoon worthy Atlas during the wonderful slow burn we see occur.
3.) I’ve once again been reminded that we don’t trust *certain* character types that we see in the beginning of books (IYKYK).
4.) The cliffhanger that this book leaves on was perfectly timed and has me already itching for more. The next book comes out next April and I already cannot wait!
5.) If I could give this book 10/10 stars, I would. I loved it that much.
