A Song of Shadow & Starlight by @authormorgan is book one in the Shadow and Starlight series! Shaye is the sole heir to the Midorian throne. On the eve of her wedding night she is kidnapped by her kingdoms sworn enemy! In her attempts to escape she is thrust into dangers and perils she has only ever read about. As a sheltered heir with little contact outside her court she is in for a real adventure.
Give me all the shadow daddies please! I ATE THIS UP! I own the first two books so I most definitely plan to start the next one soon!. Shaye is sweet but doesn’t take shit lying down. She knows she was sheltered and she knows that maybe everything she was told may not be true but she still trying to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
The fairytale vibes in this were *chefs kiss*, Hidden magic, true form, shadow daddy, kidnapping turned allies, adventures and perilous pursuits, and found family. Yes, please. Sign me up. The only thing I can say is my relationship with slow burn romance is a love/hate one. I am greedy and I want a slow burn but I also want some resolution…
I really enjoyed how easy the fantasy was. The world building was there but it wasn’t hard to follow and it was seamless.
Seriously give this a shot if you want all of the things we love in a fantasy romance! On to book 2!

This was a really fun enemies to lovers, kidnapping and finding out everything you knew was a lie. Morgan did a great job with the world building and each part of the world they traveled to was so unique and you could picture it perfectly.
I loved Shaye's fight that she had in her in the beginning of the book. It was fascinating to see how she handled everything. I can't wait to see what else Shaye can do.
Atlas was such a broody, mysterious character. He was so intriguing, that I want to know more about him. I would love to get some of his POV (especially chapter 20/21 in his POV to find what was really said). Atlas has such a protective nature over Shaye and the people he loved. I loved watching that come out.
Nyx and Fin were both such fun characters. I want to know more about Fin and Eris. Eris was also a great friend. She doesn't let her past define her.
We got little glimpses Bastian and invested to see what kind of character he becomes.
So thrilled for the next book in 2024. Can't wait for the adventure that Morgan will take us on next.

I was hooked as soon as I read Morgan's description saying it has Avatar the Last Airbender, Tangled and D&D vibes!
This book was so good! The plot keeps you gripped with lots of little twists and turns and the Harland brothers are sooooo swoonworthy! (I don't think I can choose a favourite)
There is great character development, plenty steamy scene moments, and you will fall in love with these characters and this world!
Cannot wait for book 2 it's going to be amazing!
