A ridiculous, rollicking good time

Gostei bastante.

What a duuuude

Such a classic love story, and so beautifully written. I remember watching the 1950 film version of it in the early 1960's and being enthralled by the swashbuckling sword fighting. And then I loved Steve Martin's retelling in 1987 in Roxanne. So by 2022 it was probably time for me to read it. Cyrano was a true hero, an honorable man, a romantic. A poet whose words would melt Roxanne's heart. As gifted as Cyrano was though, he never believed that a woman could love him, because of his outsized nose that he thought was hideous and that he knew would keep him from love. He was wrong, but would he live to know this?

Roxanne was more relatable, given it being written so much more contemporarily. Plus, it had 100% more Steve Martin, which is never amiss.
