i actually kind of liked it! It was really funny and so was the play adaptation.
Cyrano was such a jokester.

The beauty of language is the perfect pedestal on which to mount this fantastic tragi-comedy about the true nature of love, fidelity, and honor. Such a fantastically rich play!

I, too, loved this book...But I have a thing for dudes with big noses.
I read this last in freshman year of Highschool and I, now a sophomore is college, appreciate it more. I had forgotten much of the detail, many of the monologues, the impact. It’s short and is a nice vacation for the mind but is not mindless. It may be short but it is packed full of meaning, all of which I likely didn’t catch on this read through and might be seen on subsequent reads. Overall, a fun yet meaningful story that doesn’t take long at all to get through.

"I'm Roxanne, the lady devastater, I'll make you feel hotta than it is in Grenada. The Are Oh Ex Ay Enn Enn Eee. Roxanne is who I be!"
Roxanne, Roxanne! I wanna be your man.
Roxanne, Roxanne! I wanna be your man.
Thought provoking on the topics of truth and relationships.
This play/story is not about a man who has a great mind but terrible looks. It is about unrequited love, Cyrano for Roxanne, and fidelity to ones comrades even after death, Cyrano towards Christian. Christian is Roxanne's husband who dies shortly after their marriage at Arras. Cyrano's fidelity towards his comrades, towards his friends and for Roxanne shows true honor for a man even after and unto his death. Hopefully some one will produce the play here in the wastelands of West Texas. I can only hope.
An excellent and entertaining play! Witty and very erudite, I could imagine every line as it would be staged and said. I'm desperate to see a production of this now, I'll be first in line as soon as anyone revives it.
